Grand Popo

The best thing about spending Christmas in Africa is to be in 30 degree heat and on a spectacular beach, Grand Popo, with miles of sand in the Gulf of Guinea. The endless beaches are populated by small huts where the fishermen live. On January 1, the game was to see who was able to pull the fishing boats out to sea as quickly as possible, a genuine fight against the tides of Atlantic that was like nothing I had ever seen.
