Grand Hotel Villa Balbi

Villa Balbi è un’antica residenza signorile che si trova nella zona centrale della città di Sestri Levante. Situata in viale Rimembranza, sul lungomare di Sestri, ospita oggi il Grand Hotel Villa Balbi, ma era in origine la residenza estiva della famiglia Brignole, che la fece costruire nei primi anni del XVII secolo. Alla fine del Seicento divenne di proprietà della famiglia Balbi, della quale porta tuttora il nome, forse in seguito ad un passaggio di eredità. Dotata di una maestosa facciata verso il mare, in cui campeggia il balcone sopra l’ingresso, è immersa in un ampio e caratteristico giardino, dal quale si accede da viale Rimembranza. Gli interni sono ricchi di decorazioni, incluse quelle che rimandano alla famiglia Balbi (un caratteristico simbolo con tre pesci) che rendono lussuosi e unici tutti gli ambienti.

Villa Balbi an ancient manor house that is located in the central town of Sestri Levante. Located in Memorial Avenue, on the promenade of Sestri, now it houses the Grand Hotel Villa Balbi, but it was originally the summer residence of the family Brignole, who had it built in the early seventeenth century. At the end of the seventeenth century it became the property of the Balbi family, which still bears the name, perhaps after a transition of legacy. The interior is filled with decorations, including those that refer to family Balbi (a characteristic symbol with three fish) that make it unique and luxurious all environments.
