Great pit stop on the Denali Highway
After driving about 60 miles down the spectacular and deserted Denali Highway, I needed a break. I had no idea there were any businesses in the area, but I happened up the Gracious House Lodge which was advertising pie and espresso among other things. I was in luck.
The Gracious House has a few small cabins in the $150/nt range plus other accommodations in Atco trailers, in addition to the fun restaurant/bar covered in dollar bills. I stopped and had a pie and coffee and talked to an affable employee before getting more snacks before taking off.
