MELITHA BLASCO
Magic and bustling movement
Gorlero street is the main street of Punta del Este. It crosses the peninsula horizontally and then ends at the "real point," where the lighthouse is situated. Many years ago, this resort town was crowded with shops, businesses of all kinds, real estate, restaurants, bars, etc.. But as Punta del Este grew and moved more inland, these businesses spread out too. Gorlero retains its magic and all the bustling movement though, which is especially great for those staying in the "La Vieja Punta" hotel, those with a home or apartment in the neighborhood or those who just like to walk around the center.
