Görgey Artúr tér

La Plaza “Görgey Artúr tér” es una de las más grandes e importantes de la isla de Csepel, ubicada pocos kilómetros al sur de Budapest. Además de ser un sitio de recreo por excelencia en medio de las zonas residenciales en Csepel, esta plaza se encuentra a un costado del Mercado Municipal, por lo que se encuentra prácticamente rodeada de comercios en los que puedes encontrar desde frutas y vegetales frescos hasta ropa, artesanías y antigüedades húngaras. En el centro de la plaza se encuentra un pequeño monumento que conmemora al general Artúr Görgei, uno de los más importantes representantes de la Armada Revolucionaria Húngara, que luchó en contra del ejército ruso en el año de 1848. Antes de aceptar su rendición ante los invasores, Görgei organizó una resistencia importante considerando la enorme diferencia de tamaño tanto geográfico como en términos militares, de Hungría y Rusia.
