Gorges of Ardeche
The gorges in Ardeche can be found on a National Nature Reserve (Les Gorges de l'Ardeche in French) that has the distinct privilege of being in the south of France. It is a journey of over 30 miles during which the Ardeche river passes amid high white cliffs. Overall visitors come to hike or to go down the river in a kayak, an activity generally very nice and available to any average fitness person, except when there is much water due to rain or melting snow. The village where the tour starts is called Vallon Pont d'Arc. There are several options for accommodation there. If low can kayak camping in nature reserve in a couple of places.
It is a rural region of France who is charming, near the gorges there are several pretty villages and Bourg Saint ANDEOL or Pierrelate. Go check it out, you won't regret it!
