The tiny city of Gorey is one of the 3 major ports of Jersey, east of the island. Mont Orgueil Castle dominates the village. It was built to protect the island from attacks, and later was the residence of the Governors of Jersey. There is also a harbor, restaurants, hotels and shops. Many buses leave from St Helier to Gorey.

Gorey n'est pas la ville la plus connue de l'île mais c'est certainement celle qui nous a plu le plus ! En effet, non seulement on peut y visiter le fameux château de Mont Orgueil qui se dresse sur la petite colline près de la mer, mais c'est surtout un très joli petit port avec de nombreux bateaux et des petites boutiques typiques ! Les couleurs, les maisons, l’atmosphère, Gorey est vraiment un petit village à ne pas rater !

Gorey is not the most famous island of the city but it is certainly one that we liked the most! In fact, not only can visit the famous Mont Orgueil Castle, which stands on a small hill near the sea, but it is mostly a pretty little port with many boats and small typical shops! The colors, the houses, the atmosphere, Gorey is really a small village not to be missed!

Le petit village de Gorey est un des trois principaux ports de Jersey, situé à l'est de l'île. Le château "Mont Orgueil" domine tout le village, il avait été édifié pour protéger l'île des éventuelles attaques, et plus tard, ce fut la résidence des gouverneurs de Jersey. Il y a aussi un petit port, des restaurants, des petits hôtels et des petites boutiques. De nombreux bus partent de Saint Hélier (de la gare routière) pour rejoindre Gorey.
