Godafoss Waterfall
The Godafoss waterfall (or waterfall of the Gods) is one of the most impressive waterfalls in Iceland. It is located in the north of the island, between the town of Akureyri and Lake Myvatn. If you park at the main parking lot, you will see a stunning view of the top of the waterfall. One story says that the chief Thorgeir was pagan and then he converted to Christianity. It has been said that after leaving his pagan roots in 1000 and converting to Christianity, he threw the wooden images of the pagan gods to the waterfall.
