Glenfinnan Viaduct

For Harry Potter fanatics, or for people who simply enjoy wide open spaces, I highly recommend this place. The Glenfinnan viaduct and parts of the Jacobite train route have been used in the Harry Potter films. You'll know it when you see them. The "Hogwarts Express" always goes over a long winding bridge that maybe you've noticed has 21 arches. Well, friends, it's a real place and it's the Glenfinnan Viaduct. It is a spectacular place to visit with your family. It can be found on the shores of Loch Shiel and the Jacobite monument this impressive piece of engineering and architecture. As you see in the pictures you can go under and if the stack walking permits, you can tour the canyon and take good pictures.

To get there n drive from Carlisle, take the M6 and M74 to Glassgow. Continue on the A82 from there. From Edinburgh take the M9 to Stirling, then the A84 which binds with 85 and then 82 to Fort Williams. From the North take the A9 to then take the A86 from the A82 from Inverness Aviemoreo. Via train, take the First ScotRail, from Edinburgh or Glasgow, the West Highland Line.
