Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall is at the end of Buchanan Street, the large pedestrian shopping street of Glasgow. It is part of a group of concert halls with the City Halls and Old Fruitmarket. Built in the late 80s, and opened in 1990. It was the year when Glasgow was European capital of culture. The building would replace St Andre's Hall, which had been destroyed by fire in the 60s. The city suffered the closure of many factories, had high unemployment. Opening a palace dedicated to the arts as well as being the European Capital of Culture, gave the city a boost to become more dynamic. Built around a shopping center and a new bus station.
