OK for meeting up with expats
The Geckos are one of the most popular meeting places for ex-pats in Seoul, as it is in the embassy area. Most local bars and restaurants, are anything but Korean. I do not understand the fascination Koreans have for the the West when their own food is so spectacular. When a French friend who lives in Seoul told me that we had been there with his Korean girlfriend to have a Guinness and a burger and fries I kept quiet. It is quite expensive, the Guinness cost €7. I ordered the cheapest beer on the menu, which was about 3€. The atmosphere is nice, with mostly 80s music.
