Gardens of Charlottenburg

5 reviews of Gardens of Charlottenburg

Lovely garden

The Charlottenburg Castle garden is lovely and large with several ponds and lakes making it very cool in summer. The river Spree (from the central Berlin district and Mitte) goes past and there are a few fountains. People come to cycle, walk and run - it's a bit far from the center but the castle tour is worth it and Charlottenburg district has restaurants and nice places. Behind the small lake there's a gazebo that you can go up and see how the garden is organized from above. It used to be a French-style garden, but after Napoleon it became English garden. Alfondo is a pavilion with a mausoleum
