Contemporary art gallery in Barrio de Salamanca
The Galeria Fernando Pradilla is a contemporary art gallery in Madrid’s upscale Barrio de Salamanca neighborhood which specializes in young, up-and-coming artists primarily from Spain and Latin America. The gallery hosts various exhibits throughout the year and you should check their Facebook page for info on what’s showing when you visit.
What I like about Galeria Fernando Pradilla is that the gallery is divided into multiple spaces and features multiple artworks at the same time. The gallery itself is in a remodeled flat and the intimate spaces and natural light of the home actually make for a great gallery experience. When we went, there was an alright photography exhibition downstairs, but in the upper part there was a truly stunning exhibit for photo-realist drawings done to mimic Polaroid photos.
Galeria Fernando Pradilla also regularly hosts openings and participates in special events, like periodic Gallery Weekends where many of the galleries in downtown Madrid open during weekend mornings and serve breakfast and brunch snacks like mimosas and pastries. If you’re an art lover or are looking for something different to do in Barrio de la Salamanca, I’d recommend stopping by the Fernando Pradilla Gallery.
