The most famous in Istanbul

The Galata Bridge is the most famous of Istanbul. It represents the union of East and West, and in fact, unites these two worlds as the conceptual boundaries that have long marked. If you go to Istanbul, do not stop crossing, is symbolic ... And besides, the underside of the bridge is full of places to eat the delicious fish, smoking a shisha or drink tea even chill-out plan. Although fish snack bars, at the eastern end, are cheaper and equally rich... Moreover, if you approach the Galata Tower, climbing the steep streets (almost not necessary map, just go to your silhouette and ask if any villager

Really charming place

Although the bridge's architecture is nothing special, it's still a really charming place. It's a place you'll cross 1,000 times to see the ships sailing around the Golden Horn, the silhouette of the Galata Tower rising above the buildings of the BeyoÄŸlu neighborhood, the profile of the New Mosque and the myriad minarets that rise up from the seven hills of Istanbul.

The bridge, which connects the Beyoğlu and Eminönü districts, is always full of people coming and going, street vendors, seagulls, and lots of lots of local fishermen trying their luck. The smell of the sea rises from the

Water and intermingles with the smell of fried fish emanating from the Eminönü pier and the aroma of hookah smoke from the cafes under the bridge where men gather to spend hours playing backgammon.

Morning Fisherman

The first morning you're in Istanbul, I recommend taking a walk down to the water in Eminönü and taking a walk across the Galata Bridge. It's full of local fishermen passing the time, chatting, and drinking tea. Taking in this quintesentially Istanbul sight, along with the incredible views of Beyoğlu and Sultanahmet, is when you really get hit by exactly where you are. Right when you get across the bridge, there's a nice little cafe right in the center of the first intersection where you can sit outside, have a cup of local chai, and soak it all in.
