Fungus Rock

Situata lungo la costa di Gozo, poco distante dalla bellissima Azure Window, la Roccia Fungo svetta da Dwejra Bay con il suo aspetto selvaggio e indifferente. La roccia prende il nome da un tubero (spesso erroneamente considerato fungo) piuttosto raro che emana un odore sgradevole e cresce sulla superficie di questo enorme scoglio. Passeggiando lungo la baia si può raggiungere il lungomare più prossimo alla roccia e rendersi realmente conto delle effettive dimensioni. Non sarà particolare come l'Azure window, ma dal punto di vista naturalistico non ha nulla da invidiare!

Situated along the coast of Gozo, a short distance from the beautiful Azure Window, Fungus Rock stands by the Dwejra Bay with its wild and indifferent. The rock takes its name from a tuber (often mistakenly considered fungus) rather rare emanating an unpleasant odor and grows on the surface of this huge rock. Walking along the bay you can get to the promenade nearest to the rock and become really into account the actual size. It will not be particular as the Azure window, but from the point of view of nature has nothing to envy!

Fungus Rock es un lugar emblemático de la isla de Gozo. Esta isla y roca gigante está situada en la Bahia de Dwejra. Al llegar a la Bahia puedes ir en dirección derecha para contemplar el Azure Window, pero si te adentras entre las rocas hacia la parte izquierda puedes disfrutar de otras maravillosas vistas y allí está el Fungus Rock. Dicen que es un bonito lugar de buceo. El nombre de esta roca viene dado por un hongo que crece en la parte superior y que tiene cualidades medicinales, un hongo que se usó mucho para curar a los caballeros de la isla, tenían tanta fe en el hongo como medicina que la roca (isla) era custodiada.

Fungus Rock is a landmark of the island of Gozo. This giant rock island and is situated in the bay of Dwejra.
