Fort Davis Drug Store and Old Texas Inn

Fort Davis is located near the Davis Mountains in the Chihuahuan Desert of west Texas. The Fort Davis Drug Store is a look back at the old school Drug stores you see in western movies. We went early in the morning and bellied up to the bar for coffee and found ranchers in starched white shirts and pressed jeans along side cowboys in work boots preparing for their day on the range.

Later, we joined them for lunch and got a burger and chicken fried steak with cream gravy, fries and Texas toast. We didn't have room after the plate-sized steak and burger but we could have ended the day with Blue Bell Ice Cream or a malt from the soda fountain.
