Fontana di via Alberico II

Tra i monumenti, le fontane riescono a regalare un'atmosfera singolare che rimanda a periodi lontani. Sarà per via delle mura scrostate dall'acqua o i muschi e le tante altre piantine che vi crescono dentro. A via Alberico II, davanti al parco di Villa Torlonia, a Frascati, ci si imbatte in una fontana a ridosso di un muro di contenimento, in cui il tufo limita colonnine e particolari vari. Questa struttura è una vasca a tre conche, per così dire, nel piano inferiore, con al centro una più piccola del tutto ricoperta da muschi. Ma il bello è soprattutto sopra e sotto tale mini-conca. In alto, figura grottesca: da bocca e orecchie fioriscono e proliferano ciuffi di Linaria cymbalaria, che alcuni chiamano scarpetta della Madonna. In basso, una grande aquila pronta a volare, anch'essa ricoperta totalmente di muschio verdissimo e umidissimo, come l'insieme complessivo.
