Florencia Bay

Située à l'extrêmité sud du parc national de Pacific Rim (et donc nécessitant de s'acquitter du droit de 7 euros), la baie Florencia fut le théatre du naufrage du navire qui lui donna son nom, le HMS Florencia, en 1861. En pleine tempête, le navire qui partait de Victoria vers le sud a perdu le contrôle, et malgré un remorqueur qui est venu l'aider ( le HMS Forward, ce qui signifie "En avant !"), le courant et les vents furent trop forts et le bateau est venu s'abimer sur les rochers. Aujourd'hui, cette plage est surtout connu pour être un haut lieu du surf !

Located at the southern end of the Pacific Rim National Park (and therefore requiring fulfill the law of 7 euros), Florencia Bay was the scene of the shipwreck which gave it its name, HMS Florencia in 1861. In a storm, the ship started from Victoria to the south lost control, despite a tug came to help (HMS Forward, which means "Forward"), the current and the winds were too strong and the boat came to get scratched on the rocks. Today, this beach is best known for being a mecca of surfing!
