A wonderful event
Las Vegas has something more than hotels and gambling ... art. When I was there, a bus guide told me about First Friday which as the name suggests, takes place on the first Friday of every month. The event began in the house of a local artist, who opened her home to show her work to the neighbors. Then it grew ... and today there are 20 blocks of houses and open studios with works on display. We went downtown, and it didn't feel like a safe neighborhood, but it's known for the number of artists who live there, and the First Friday event united everyone!
