Songkran (Thai New Year)

The new year is celebrated in peace here, with a "water war". It seems that soaking your neighbor with a bucket symbolises their new year plus the beginning of the rainy season. It is celebrated on the 13, 14 and 15 April. The first day, I got soaked by a bucket of water. The second day I showered about 5 or 6 times. I thought, if you cannot beat them, join them! I bought a 3 liter water gun and some beer to enjoy the party! Some people carry a bucket of water mixed with something white, I thought it was flour, but I doubt it, because it remained on the face or arms of the "marked" ones for days.
