Festas do Mar

The Festas do Mar Cascais takes place every year for a few weeks of August, and is an event well worth visiting! The first thing to note is the price (free!), and there are all kinds of concerts and shows to suit every different taste. In 2012, for example, some headliners were Pedro Abrunhosa, Mikkael Solnado, Andre Sardet, Ronan Keating, and Rui Veloso. There are always performances by Cascais garage bands, thus helping to promote the local talent. In addition to the concerts, it's a beautiful place to visit and explore on foot, with plenty of great food and drink, crafts, promotion events, music, entertainment, and a great fireworks display.
