Ferreries

Situado en la zona central de la isla, entre Ciutadella y Mercadal, Ferreries es un pequeño pueblo de gran actividad industrial y comercial. A sólo 141 metros sobre el nivel del mar, es la localidad situada a mayor altura de Menorca. En su término municipal se hallan algunas de las mejores playas de la isla, como Cala Galdana, Cala Calderer o Cala Mitjana son algunas de las playas de aguas tranquilas y arenas doradas donde los pinos llegan prácticamente hasta la orilla. La iglesia de Sant Bartomeu (s. XIX) y los restos del castillo árabe de Sent Agayz, sobre el monte de Santa Águeda, son dos de las visitas imprescindibles. Al lado de esta última construcción se encuentra también parte de una antigua calzada romana. En su polígono industrial, al que se accede desde la carretera general Maó-Ciutadella, hay fábricas de calzado, como la de Mascaró, y piel que exportan a todos los lugares del mundo. Celebra sus fiestas patronales el día de San Bartolomé (24 de agosto), y el Jaleo de Ferreries es uno de los más espectaculares dado que se celebra en las empinadas cuestas de su casco antiguo.

Les chaussures sont faites d'une empeigne de cuir cousue à une semelle en caoutchouc. A l'origine, utilisées par les paysans et les marins, elles étaient fabriquées avec une semelle faite à partir de pneus de voitures recyclés. Elles sont devenues actuellement très "tendance" et se déclinent à l'infini!

El 24 de agosto da lugar en Ferreries las fiesta patronales. A eso de las 20:30 llegamos a Ferreries y la sorpresa fue aparcar al momento ya que la espectacularidad que brindan jinetes y caballos al bajar hasta la plaça de la Vila y levantar los caballos mientras lo hogareños lo mantiene en alto congrega a muchos turistas que quieren ser participes en la tremenda fiesta. Merece la pena verlo y vivirlo !
