Farquahar Street Market
Leaving behind the modern and urban Port Louis, away, but still stuck to the malls and at the same time hidden from the news skyscrapers in the financial capital, we find a street which is filled every day with a type of market selling clothes, furniture, shoes, and it is in the entrance to the Municipal Market. People know it also as the Farquahar Street Market, to differentiate it from another a few streets away which also doesn't belong to the city. Going in is a feast for the senses. There are fruits and vegetables, both known and unknown, pyramids of tomatoes, lemons, oranges, cabbage, lettuce, all kinds of spices and seasonings, curries, peppers, flavored salts.
