9 reviews of Fagnano Lake

Watch native birds

About 100 kilometres from Ushuaia, it is located between Chile and Argentina. It's 100 km long and 6 km wide. On the lake you can watch native birds like petrels, albatrosses and geese, and sports fish. It was named Khami by the tribe that inhabited the Selknam region, but the name Fagnano is in honour of the Catholic priest Monsignor Joseph Fagnano, the first Apostolic Administrator of Patagonia.
