Excursion by Bicycle Nyaung Shwe - Kaungdaing (Inle Lake)

Unfortunately, in Inle Lake is not possible for tourists to ride the ferry-boats that connect points of the island to the mainland. There is also no canoe rental service, which is quite inconvenient. The best option, if you want to move freely, is to rent a bicycle to get around the area. This is one of the most interesting routes linking the stocks and Kaundaing Nyaung Shwe in Inle Lake. You can discover monasteries which are off the tourist trail and watch life on the canals. You can also see various types of animals, from huge black oxen swimming in the canals (reminiscent of scenes from Kenya or Tanzania) to small butterflies, iguanas, squirrels and ducks.

One third of the journey takes you on a dirt track and the rest on paved road. You cross several small bridges made of wooden planks. Almost all of the route is protected from the sun by trees that line the road. The ride to Kaungdaing takes about 70 minutes and the hot springs are located about 15 minutes before this. You will see some spectacular sights here.
