Excavations in the Gobi

About two kilometeres from the closest part of the Great Wall Jiayuguan are these excavations in a cave in the desert of Gobi. They are not very advanced, but after the Great Wall, are one of the most popular attractions in the area because of their nearness. If you walk you will have time over so I recommend you visit Best Wei Jin Tombs, which are truly spectacular. To get there the best option is a taxi, which is really cheap here.
