Chiesa di Sant'Agostino

3 reviews of Chiesa di Sant'Agostino

A large complex

Excellent

Founded in 1200 by the Hermits and was abolished in 1797 with the arrival of Napoleon's troops, this large complex is now home to some university faculties, while other parts await renovation. The church has a late Gothic facade with a round gate and a high statue of St Augustine (it was rebuilt in 1400 by the Augstinians). It is a very attractive complex, offering a spectacular view of the hills of Bergamo.
