Duke Kahanamoku Statue

Duke Kahanamoku is considered the father of modern surfing and his statue is located on Waikiki Beach in front of the Marriott Waikiki Hotel. This man not only practiced surfing and swimming. He also won silver and gold medals in the 1912 and 1924 Olympics. His legend is well known among Native Hawaiians because he is one of their greatest heroes.
