Not everything in Mallorca is beaches and bays
Its interior landscapes are a dream, especially to completely relax.
Protected by the Serra de Tramuntana, Caimari is a little village with a unique flavour. There and around the surroundings live people dedicated, since forever, to the land, with foreigners who have fallen in love with its calmness and the scent of its gardens.
That is what happened to James and Paola, the owners of Es Castell, a wonderful property dotted with extremely old olive trees: they saw it and were completely captivated.
The hotel retains its rustic rural architecture, unpretentious, with a unique flavour. Between so much green and silence one forgets about the car and gets about by bike. One can peddle narrow tracks from Moscari to Binibona, Mancor de la Vall to Selva, Selva to Caimari...
Upon return, James awaits, who bends over backwards to communicate in good Spanish, and Paola, who has been begged to prepare delicious meals from her native Tuscany merged with typical Mediterranean dishes. Imagine house specialty lamb, stuffed tomatoes, seafood crepes with saffron sauce, cheese and potato pie, fresh fish with lemon sauce and, of course, fresh pasta. All served in a fabulous yet casual dining room or by the poolside.
Es Castell has one defect: how hard it is to leave!
