Honoring heroes

In the fortified hill overlooking the city, next to the remains of the ancient fortification "Cetatuia" of the eighteenth century, there is a monument dedicated to national heroes. It is a perpetual flame that honors those fallen in battles with the Turkish army of Michael the Brave. May 28 marks the day of national heroes and a wreath is lain at the monument. There´s a gazebo next to that from which you can get spectacular views of the city and the surrounding landscape 200 meters below.
