2 reviews of Monastery over the Sea

Ermita

You are on the road to Akrotiri Megalochori, halfway, next to some wineries that are called Boutary Winery. When you get to the wineries follow the stone path until you find some stairs very rudimentary facts caldera itself. I have to warn you that the descent is very steep because those steps go down to the sea. When you get to the first church, and there are no steps and have to follow a very narrow path through the undergrowth, sometimes no. When we went, it had rained for several days, and the water had washed the road downhill, so we had to go looking for it ourselves. It lasts about an hour and a half of decline.

Think you have to lower the boiler completely. But worth it, and why we arrived and we could not swim, pq was very choppy sea and were scared to give us on the rocks. The view on the way down is lovely, lovely, lovely. And sit in the shade of the little church to rest, with the smell of the sea, when you get low is priceless. There is also a kind of fisherman's house abandoned, padlocked, and remains of fishing nets. Next to the church there were also traces of blue paint and pots of white, pq, yes in Santorini, there are more than 400 churches scattered throughout the island, are very present. All are immaculately painted and this although it is in the innermost corner, was no exception.
