An Ionic masterpiece

Excellent

The Erechtheion is an Ionic masterpiece that was built 421-406 BC and it's the most famous temple - the famous tribune of the Caryatids. It's a polychrome portico with 6 columns (originally) with female figures, all the figures are copies, 5 of the originals are in the Acropolis Museum and the last is in the British Museum, London. The realization of this porch was a currency for the time to be used in place of columns the "caryatids".

Superb

The miraculous architecture of this temple still retains an aura of mystery. It was built in the year 407BC! The Portico of the Caryatids is exceptional and it consists of six statues each over two meters high. These statues are copies, though. One of the originals is in the British Museum and the other in the Acropolis Museum.

Temple of the Caryatidas

The temple of caratidas is above the Acropolis, next to the Parthenon. It is a favorite of tourists, and therefore is a victim of its own success. You must arrive early in the morning, at 8, as it gets busy. It was built in the area of the Acropolis, in 421 BC by Mnesicles. The Caryatidas are six women in robes and are the best preserved monuments in the Acropolis area, since most of them were taken away the British and are now displayed in the British Museum in London. The Caryatidas support the temple, acting as columns.
