Opulence and Monumental Size
Facing the back of the Cathedral , I found part of the Romanesque wall with beautiful gardens and the ruins of a building with many arches, which proved to be the Episcopal Palace. The Cathedral was built in the 16th century, so when the first bishops came to Miranda, they initially had to reside in the Castle until the Renaissance Palace, also the Seminar, was built in the 17th century.
The building was built around a central courtyard. It's a cloister with multiple arches supported on monolithic columns, which is all that remains after suffering several fires. However, just look at the ruins to imagine the opulence and its monumental size of the Episcopal Palace, behind the Cathedral . In the Renaissance portal, which was the entrance to the building, there is a memorial consisting of plates engraved with the bishop's names. In front of it is the Court House , which is preceded by a huge bronze sculpture.
