Episcopal Palace

The Episcopal Palace is located in the middle of Main Street and right next to the Cathedral Square in the Sorian township of El Burgo de Osma. Personally, I was fascinated by seeing the late Gothic entrance, where I should mention there's a fabulous ogee that's framed by a rectangular Muslim memory. It was built in masonry at Bishop Afonso Henriques' expense in the 16th century. This palace now serves as the headquarters of the Sorian Episcopal and Diocesan Archive of Burgo de Osma, and you have to keep in mind that in those days it was the Bishop the temporary Lord of the village and its lands, so acquiring the rights the Cathedral Chapter.
