This is a huge pollution-free hydraulic power generator shared between Paraguay and Argentina. It is located 1000km north of Buenos Aires and 300km from Asuncion, on the islands of Yacyreta, Talavera and Apipe Grande. While its main objective is low-cost hydroelectric power, it also takes advantage of the Parana river channel to facilitate navigation and aid regional development projects. The structure is fantastic and there aren't enough words to describe this man-made wonder: it's a series of road, bridges, waste-water treatment plants, and airports that have improved the quality of life of local cities of Ituzaingo, Ayolas, Posadas, and Incarnation.
