The Enoshima Yasaka Jinja is a Shinto temple which almost takes up the whole island. Interestingly it's dedicated to the deity of Benten (benzaitan) god of water and music. It was constructed on a series of temples that had previously been used to worship an ancient dragon (which is a water animal in Oriental culture).
