Best craft beer bar in Budapest
The craft beer revolution has arrived in Budapest and ground zero is Elezsto, a sprawling craft beer garden and ruin bar hidden among the streets of Budapest's District VIII. Elezsto has an indoor bar area as well as a large outdoor terrace with comfy sofas and tables, each with their own bar serving up to 17 varieties of mainly Hungarian craft beer on tap, as well as a decent selection by bottle. If you're looking to discover what Hungarian craft beer is all about, Elezsto is definitely the place.
Since most of the brews are Hungarian, most of the names won't be recognizable, not to mention pronounceable. If you have doubts, ask the English-speaking bartenders and they'll recommend those which best match your tastes and give you little samples until you find what you want. I tried two Hungarian American Pale Ales which were absolutely delicious (if only I could remember the names!). They were aromatic and tasty with just the right amount of bitterness from the hops. My wife got a what beer that was so smooth and refined it almost tasted like juice!
