Many transit busses

The Eldon bus station is a very new station. It was built by the leading bus network Nexus, that has routes throughout the region of Newcastle, the Tyne and Wear.
The majority of transit buses leave from there, whilst the Haymarket station offers more long distance buses. Eldon Station reopened in March 2007, and is located at the exit of the shopping center that has the same name. It makes shopping easier.

More than 6 million travelers pass through Eldon throughout the year, that's a total of 4,500 buses a week! The main routes take you to Gateshead, Sunderland, Hexham, Ponteland and Alston.

There are no buses after 11:00pm, and the schedule's even earlier in winter. The information stand and the box office do not open until 9 am, so you have to inform yourself by talking to the drivers. However tickets can be purchased on board. You can combine the tickets with those from the metro.
