Eladio's Bar

En el malecón de la ciudad de Progreso, justo al lado de la playa al final de la calle 80 se encuentra el popular restaurante Eladio's Bar, un gran local en el que sirven, según dice la gente local, las mejores botanas de la ciudad. Si eres de México ya sabrás que son las "botanas" pero para los que no pues son pequeñas raciones de comida servidas en platos individuales, vamos lo que los españoles llamamos "tapas" e igual que en Granada, las botanas se sirven solo al pedir la bebida! Nosotros fuimos por la recomendación de unos amigos. "Si van a Progreso no olviden comer en Eladio's. Sólo pidan unas chelas y les empezarán a servir comida!" Cuanta razón! nos sirvieron 10 botanas pidiendo tan solo una cerveza y un refresco y con eso ya comimos muy bien :) El restaurante es enorme y tiene distintas zonas con mesas, una gran área con mesas en la arena de la playa, una terraza elevada y luego 2 zonas más interiores con un pequeño rincón dónde cantan música en directo. Para los más pequeños también hay un piscina en donde pueden darse un chapuzón. Al principio estuvimos un poco desatendidos (imaginamos porqué el local estaba lleno) pero una vez nos tomaron nota todo genial. Comimos un montón y hasta que no nos trayeron la cuenta no nos creimos lo que nos habían contado nuestros amigos pero sí, toda la comida que nos sirvieron y solo nos cobraron la bebida. Todo lo que véis en las fotos por 4€ los dos, buenísimo! :) En definitiva un lugar genial y agradable, al lado de la playa, que se ajusta también a aquellos que se quieren gastar poco dinero ;)

On the boardwalk of the city of Progreso, just off the beach at the end of 80th Street is the popular restaurant Eladio's Bar, a great venue in which they serve, according to local people, the best snacks in town says. If you live in Mexico you'll know which are the "snacks" but for those who do not because they are small portions of food served in individual dishes, come what Spaniards call "tapas" and as in Granada, snacks are served only by asking Drink! We went on the recommendation of friends. "If they will not forget to eat at Progreso Eladio's. Few beers and just ask them they will begin to serve food!" How right! 10 snacks were served just asking a beer and a soda and ate it as well :) The restaurant is huge and has several areas with tables, a large area with tables in the sand on the beach, a raised terrace and then 2 more inland areas with a small corner where they sing music. For the little ones there is also a pool where they can take a dip. At first we were a little neglected (imagine why the place was full) but once we took note all great. We ate a lot and until we continously account not we believed we had told us what our friends but all the food we were served and only charged drink. Everything you see on the photos for 4 € the two, great! :) Definitely a great and friendly place, next to the beach, which is also consistent with those who want to spend little money;)

Con excelente opción para estar en la playa y comer mariscos ricos, ahora si lo que buscas es algo económico como tip puedes comprar solo bebidas y pedir que te lleven botana y oh sorpresa. Degustarás mas de 10 platillos distintos (en pequeñas porciones) pero deliciosos y lo mejor es que al menos la mitad son platillos típicos de la región.

It is a botanero center with excellent option to be on the beach and eat rich seafood, now if what you are looking for is something economical as a tip you can buy only drinks and ask for snacks and surprise! You will taste more than 10 different dishes (in small portions) but delicious and the best thing is that at least half are typical dishes of the region.
