"El resort de los mayas", eso es Tulum....
"El resort de los mayas", eso es Tulum. Bueno, eso fue Tulum para esta grandiosa civilización prehispánica, una de las más importantes y avanzadas de América. Esto fue lo que pensé la primera vez que fui, ya que el paisaje que ofrecen las ruinas mayas con el telón de fondo color turquesa que es el Mar Caribe, es único e impresionante. Alguna vez Tulum fue una ciudad amurallada en el periodo postclásico, entre los años 1200 y 1450, aunque hay evidencias que datan de mucho antes. Actualmente se pueden visitar estas ruinas en el estado de Quintana Roo, como parte de la Riviera maya, en la península de Yucatán. El pueblo cercano, Tulum, es un pueblo moderno surgido por el interés turístico de la zona arqueológica, por lo que ahora cuenta con una buena infraestructura para ofrecer a los visitantes pequeños hoteles boutique, tiendas de artesanías o restaurantes. Uno de estos restaurantes es "Don Cafeto", ubicado a pocos minutos de las ruinas. Bajo su techo de palma uno puede relajarse y comer unos buenos mariscos frescos, algunas especialidades mayas o platillos básicos de la cocina internacional. Por las noches hay música en vivo: jazz, salsa, samba o hasta mambo para dar al lugar un ambiente distinto cada noche.
