Great quality and service, fresh products, superb cuisine, and spectacular dishes. All of this added to the beautiful setting of the town of Somo makes El Galeón arguably one of the best restaurants to be found in northern Spain and certainly for me the best in the region of Cantabria. Congratulations for Augustin, Nuria, and their team for their service and good work. We will definitely come back. Well done!
We weren't all that hungry and were just looking for a place to have some tapas. Finally, we decided to go to Galeón de Somo and were lucky we did...we had lots of tasty tapas, especially calamari, which was great.
We tried the crab cakes, snails, frogs' legs, and stuffed mussels. All were very good, but from what I saw at other tables we could have chosen better: they were serving up awesome fish (bream, sea bass, turbot ...), huge and lovely salads, and other great-looking plates. The waiters were very polite, attentive, and gave great service.
Highly recommended. High quality seafood and very generous portions made in the moment by the chef, Augustin. The service was also very friendly and the homemade desserts were delicious. You can't miss it if you're in the area.
