El Fogón Sefardí Restaurant
The restaurant of the hotel Casa Mudejar is situated in a beautiful XV century building. We visited the restaurant as we knew of all the prizes it had won: Decalle winner of best tapas for the years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. We tried some of the dishes and they were certainly worthy of the prizes, but we did not understand the name "tapas" as they are dishes large enough to eat as a meal. Our favorite was the 2011 winner of Iberian pork, mushrooms and asparagus, topped with an egg and muscat sauce. We also enjoyed the Castilian soup and white butter beans, and being in Segovia, of course we also had to try the famous suckling pig.
