El Fadrí

The Fadrí is one of the place you must see in Castellón. It’s a bell tower and the symbol of Castelló.

The Fadrí lies in Castellón’s main square, together with Santa Marie la Mayor church. It’s a 60-meter octagonal-shaped bell tower. The tower is divided into four parts: the clock chamber, the ecclesiastical prison, the bell ringer’s quarters, and the bell chamber. In the upper part, a ledge with eight gargoyles stands out. Other highlights include the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Valencia and the Towers of Castellon. The Fadri is been declared a Spanish national monument.
