In the city of Istanbul the world's fifth largest diamond can be found. It is a gem so big that it can break a windshield. It is an 86 carat stone called "The Bucket" because it is surrounded by two rows of smaller bright points (49 in total ), giving the gem the shape of a bucket. According to legend, a wandering fisherman found the gem in a pile of garbage. A jeweler told him that it was glass and gave him three spoons for it. A more recent hypothesis suggests that it is the same stone known in France as the Pigot diamond, once used by Napoleon's mother. This magnificent diamond can be admired in "The Treasure Room" of the Topkapi Palace, which bedazzles most Western visitors.
