El Astillero

Excellent

This is a coastal town in Cantabria, located about 8 km from Santander and near the River Boo. Located at the foot of the Peña Cabarga, lies at the confluence of rivers Solia, Carmen and Astillero. Although constituted as a municipality in 1800, its history as a place of settlement dates back to several centuries ago. Its population core was formed around the shipyard of Potrañes, this being a crucial point in the ship traffic. It has a rich and wide variety of species of waterfowl. They all live in the marsh, a wetland of 200,000 square meters located a few meters from the village. It is a quiet town without crowds.

A perfect place to spend a few days near the capital of Cantabria in absolute tranquility.
