Tallgrass prairie and horse trails at Eisenhower State Park
Eisenhower State Park is a beautiful natural park in the town in the Flint Hills region of eastern Kansas. One of the defining features of Eisenhower State Park is that it’s one of the last places that you’ll find real tallgrass prairie in the United States. If you've never heard of tallgrass prairie, it’s incredible: thousands of long, delicate strands of prairie grass come together to create a sea of grass that waves hypnotically in the wind. With the bright blue Kansas sky and cotton-like clouds overhead, it’s simply gorgeous. Eisenhower State Park is also a favorite among campers and the park has more than 180 campsites ranging from completely primitive plots to more modern ones with water, sewage, and electrical hook-ups.
