The most famous in Poland, considered a historically Polish product, but in fact founded in 1851 by Karl Wedel, a German immigrant! Now, it is not owned by the family and it is even less Polish, under communism the company went public. In 89 E. Wedel was privatized and in 1991 it was acquired by PepsiCo. Since 1999 it has belonged to the British company Cadbury Schweppes. On the street Emila Wedla you can find the original Wedel building, very stately, above all there is a child in red, with a chocolate on his back riding a zebra, one of the old icons of the brand.
