Eastern and Western Pagodas

Eastern and Western Pagodas

The Eastern and Western Pagodas (,; Dongsi Ta, Xisi Ta) are two buildings located in the southern part of Kunming and connected by a pedestrian street. The pagodas are very similar: built of brick, are both about 200 meters high, with a square plan and 13 floors; the only difference is in color. Erected between the eighth and ninth centuries, the pagodas were part of two temples, the western and the eastern, but today there are no more. The pagodas are located a short distance from each other and are connected by a long pedestrian street full of restaurants, specialty shops, coffee houses tea. A nice area to eat, shop and admire two ancient and important buildings.
