An unpleasant experience
My opinion about the East Village B & B is not entirely favorable because of a problem we had on the first night. We booked online and paid the total price for our planned 4 nights by money order. A couple of days before leaving for New York, we received a message on the answering machine saying that they had made an error and booked out our room. When we called to clarify the issue they kept our money but offered no solution, and when we expressed our anger, they shouted at us and we finally got to talk to the manager, who was kinder than the other staff.
She arranged for us to stay in a friend's apartment for the same price, but the apartment had nothing to do with the East Village B & B, and was not as well-located or half as nice as the photos we'd seen.
