Ultimate attraction of Doune
Very close to Stirling, in the zone known as the center of Scotland lies the town of Doune, where the building that stands out most is the castle, Doune Castle (constructed by order of Robert Stewart "Duke of Albany" - which refers to Alba Albany, meaning Scotland and not the country of Albania), close to the river Teith and immortalized in the movie of Monty Python "Holy Grail" ('Monty Python and the Holy Grail "). The castle, in good condition, was constructed in the 14th century and at the time it was a very important place, as the seat of the Scottish nobility, during the War of the Three Kingdoms, in the 17th century.
